Hi, I’m Jack. I am an English artist practicing out of NYC. In my work I am exploring a world of mysticism across a physical world made up of interactive pieces. I ask the question, would we be happier if we lived in a world where artificiality was almost completely removed and we embraced the mystical?

I have always had trouble fitting into a tightly defined “box”, coming from a traditional boarding school world, this meant I rarely wrote about myself. Today is in fact the first time I have sit to write a honest and detailed bio of who I am and what my artistic vendetta is (my careers advisor suggested I should be a farmer). With this in mind, for the most truthful account, I suggest you start by looking at my first collection, here on this site, or even better come visit in person as I intended it to be seen, since all my secrets are hidden here in plain view.

The journey that brought me here ran a path from my inspirational home of UK, via Hong Kong, Beijing, Glasgow and NYC, where I now live and make my work. During this experience I tought myself creative arts rather than learning from a school, so you will find no evidence of training here. I of course learned many things from the masters of art, design and architecture, I have too many to thank here, as well as the myriad of makers who have collaborated on the way.

The mother of all my inspiration comes from the natural world around me, in particular plants and fungi. I was born and spent the first eighteen years of my life in the West Sussex countryside. Here I was free to roam the extraordinarily beautiful forests and hills surrounding my home. It was at this time I started to imagine a different world to my own reality. One with a greater balance between the natural and man made. It was here I discovered creatures living harmoniously with their world and I started to speak with them to learn their secrets.

The universe I am exploring breaths life and hope into the potential of natural materials and symbiotic relationships with plants to alter our nihilistic future. Change our course. Inspire hope in a harmonious future. Showing how beautiful a sustainable life can be.

My first collection of sculpture and functional art, explores this mythical world inhabited by friendly beasts and monstrous plants. Occupied by work in stone, wood, glass, metal and repurposed natural materials, I have created an environment that captures their world in a functional living space. At the heart of the space is a dining room, where I invite friends, collectors and artists to come experience the mystic and ask their own questions.

All my work is made in Brooklyn, NY. I make some of it completely in my space so as to channel the world directly into the work.
